Southern Research offers a comprehensive array of integrated, GLP-compliant Clinical Pathology and Anatomic Pathology services for the assessment of pathologic changes critical to our clients' preclinical drug development studies. Our well trained, experienced staff utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and technology to provide the highest level of pathologic support that may be required during any phase of preclinical development.
The result of standard non-invasive Clinical Pathology tests may suggest a pathology that impacts the function of various organs. Standard clinical pathology analyses include tests such as hematology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis. Clinical pathological analysis introduces the flexibility of non-terminal sample collection at multiple time points, depending on the animal species used. Development and presence of organ system dysfunction may then be identified and monitored.
The macroscopic and microscopic evaluation of the pathological alterations induced in laboratory animals by novel test agents represents the cornerstone of safety assessment to determine if agents may progress to human testing. Southern Research's comprehensive Anatomic Pathology program includes necropsy, histology, histopathology, and peer review. We also provide both on-site and off-site anatomic pathology services ranging from necropsy to histopathology.
