Aerosol Inhalation

Southern Research offers new safety pharmacology, safety assessment, pharmacokinetic, and pilot (acute) inhalation capabilities to assist clients in the evaluation and development of their pharmaceuticals, biological compounds, and inhalation devices. Our scientists have the experience and knowledge to conduct standard and novel inhalation studies. In addition, we will work closely with clients in developing protocols to meet study objectives and requirements using state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Our scientists offer experience with inhalation exposures and inhalation challenge of multiple animal species to gases, vapors, bioaerosols, and aerosols through single or repeated nose-only, oro-nasal, or lung-only exposure routes. We specialize in the delivery of difficult-to-aerosolize compounds, complex mixtures, and precious materials. Southern Research is well-known for our development and implementation of novel inhalation instrumentation and techniques. We are an AAALAC-accredited and GLP-compliant facility.
