Select Agents/ Emerging Pathogens

The Southern Research Select Agents/Emerging Pathogens research and drug development program focuses on high-risk and often life-threatening agents for which the development of effective treatments and vaccines is critically important. These agents include both newly emerging and established agents that are increasing in prevalence or severity. Because some potentially life-threatening agents are characterized by a stable structure that enables them to survive in the environment, they have been identified as biohazards.

Our infectious disease team offers scientific expertise in microbiology and immunology and provides a range of laboratory research services focused on drug and vaccine evaluations for select agents/emerging pathogens. Southern Research works closely with clients in designing customized protocols and procedures focused on providing research data that meet the requirements for registration of their products.
